COVID-19

WHAT TO EXPECT

September 1, 2020

Dear TJ Dancers and Parents,

We are so ready to get back to dancing! We hope you will join us. Because of the Covid 19 pandemic, dance classes will be different this year. Currently, we can have 5 students in person, per class, at the studio. Your teacher will contact you once your class has over 5 dancers enrolled. Then you will need to go to a rotating "one week in studio/one week streaming from home" schedule. We are capping all classes at 10 students, in hopes of moving to Phase 3 during the 20/21 dance year (which would allow more than 5 in person students). There will also be the option of virtual streaming only.

We are following the CDC recommended guidelines so that we are all safe returning to the studio for dance.

Here's what to expect:

No one is allowed in the Dance Studio except for teachers and dance students. Parents/caregivers and siblings must wait outdoors or in the parking lot.

Students will wait at the door for their teacher to give them a temperature check, along with answering health questions.

Students (and teachers) must wear a mask at all times inside the studio. Once a student enters, they should remove their outdoor shoes and use hand sanitizer or wash hands. If wearing outdoor shoes for class, they should wipe the shoe sole with a bleach wipe. They may then proceed to a marked off area, created for 6 ft. social distancing rule, taking dance shoes and coats with them.

After class, the teacher will release the student to their parent/caregiver. Please try to maintain the 6 ft. social distancing guideline when entering and leaving. Parents, please pick your dancer up at door at designated stop time for class. Teachers will also need to sanitize the studio in between classes, so please be prompt.

In between classes, we will spray disinfectant on the dance floor and will wipe down touched surfaces (i.e., door handles, barres, bathroom).

Each night the floors and bathrooms will be cleaned and disinfected.

We are taking these extra measures to follow CDC guidelines and to hopefully keep everyone safe who enters the studio.

Please check the website, tjdance.com for the current schedule. We hope to see you all soon. Classes begin on Tuesday, Sept. 8th. The first Monday classes will be on Sept. 14th.

Please contact us if you have any questions. Excited to be dancing with all of you agai
